Tennis during heat waves

Tennis as great a sport as it is to learn and play is a sport we want to play safely. Children are at an increased risk during tennis in the heat. Children have a lessened ability to dissipate heat and are more susceptible to heat injury. Thus, young players should carefully observe the guidelines for extreme heat conditions and even more conservative measures may be applied. Anytime that I see the heat index might approach the orange or red levels on the chart below we will cancel lessons and reschedule as possible. Your child's safety is my first concern. On days, where the index is in the yellow depending on the time of the lesson we may be able to have lessons that day. I will communicate by email to inform parents when cancellations are needed. If you have any additional questions pleas email or call me.
See you back on the courts later this week.....Coach Zack
